Date: 19-Mar-13 Country: NORWAY Author: Alister Doyle Hunters have slaughtered 3,500 reindeer on a British island near Antarctica in a step to get rid of animals that were brought from Norway a century ago and are an increasing threat to native wildlife.

It is a very sad story. They hired Sami people to catch and slaughter, since they are experts from reindeer herding.
Of course it’s sad from an animal rights viewpoint, on the other hand environmentalist consider the Reindeers as a species not native to Antarctic Islands.
