Wildlife Refuge Gets Federal OK

Chicago Tribune2012-08-17:                      Federal authorities have authorized the development of a national wildlife refuge on 11,200 acres that straddle the Illinois-Wisconsin border — a project conservationists have sought for years. About 85 percent of potential land acquisition for the Hackmatack National Wildlife Refuge has been identified in Illinois, a U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service spokeswoman said.
